So I begin tonight with a new thread idea. That of moving away from accusation and blaming behavior to witnessing for Urianism. I will work on focusing not on how I think other systems have failed, but what Urianism can do to help us all succeed.
This first one will be short, since I'm also trying to learn how to say things more clearly and simply instead of rambling.
Urianism offers many things, but tonight I will speak about the 20 laws.
The 20 laws give us clear guidelines on how to live. Its that simple. They cover some things that I believe were left out of the 10 commandments because they just were not that big a part of the culture at the time.
For example...
Abortion. Touchy subject I know. Abortion is forbidden except in cases of rape and incest and extreme danger to the mother. Why? It is simple. Killing an unborn or partially born baby is not the behavior of responsible people. Abortion should not be used as emergency birth control for people who are without the ability to control themselves or use actual birth control methods.
They say that a woman's body is her own. If that is true, what about the infant? Isn't the infant's body his/her own? Doesn't it follow that if the woman has the right to determine what happens to her body that the infant has the same right as well?
Simply, abortion for reasons other than rape or incest is a selfish and irresponsible act.
In a Urian nation, no spirit needs fear being aborted simply to please the whims of the mother. In a Urian nation, governed by the 20 laws, children would be born into the life of a married man and woman.
That's it for tonight, just a beginning....
